While our doors are closed, our hearts remain open

Our church building, Sixth Church of Christ, Scientist, located at 3401 N. Studebaker Road, in Long Beach, California, is currently closed until further notice.  This action was taken in accordance with instructions from the Governor of California, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, and the Mayor of Long Beach.

In reality, however, our “Church”, built on “the structure of Truth and Love;” and “rest[ing] upon and proceed[ing] from divine Principle,” is never closed.  Our Church “is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils or error, and healing the sick.”  Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, (p.583), by Mary Baker Eddy.  So, although our building doors are temporarily locked, Church remains open and available to all during this current public health situation.

To those earnest seekers after Truth, we invite you to visit www.christianscience.com to learn more about Christian Science while the doors to our building are closed.  And, we welcome you to attend our Sunday Church services and Sunday School at 10:00 a.m., and our Wednesday evening testimonial meetings at 7:30 p.m., when our building doors re-open.

Lovingly,

Executive Board

On Sunday, April 19, 2020, following our 10 a.m., church service, Sixth Church will have its 2020 Spring Potluck lunch, in our Sunday School room. All church members, Sunday School students and their families, and friends of Sixth Church are lovingly invited to participate.

If you want to join us, please contact Christopher Stone, the Potluck Coordinator, (sclbmembercs@gmail.com), no later than Easter Sunday, letting him know what food or beverage you want to bring for sharing with others. We also need several volunteers for post-Potluck cleanup.
